Message from the Director
Welcome to Fort Monmouth, Family and Morale, Welfare and Recreation (FMWR).
It gives me great pleasure to extend to you a warm and hearty invitation to use and enjoy the FMWR facilities and programs at Fort Monmouth. The FMWR staff takes great pride in offering the best possible services and entertainment. We understand that your leisure time is one of your most prized possessions and we will do whatever we can to make sure your time is well spent! Please notice that many of our facilities have been upgraded for your convenience including our Tickets n’ Tours office and some of the facilities in the golf locker rooms. We have also been busy completely renovating some of our lodging rooms to make you & your families stay at Fort Monmouth even better than before.
It’s been a busy summer here at Fort Monmouth! Suneagles Golf Course hosted many exciting activities, including the Commanders Challenge which took place from June to September 2008. Our charming country club, Gibbs Hall, hosted our first ever Summer Ball which concluded our 90th Anniversary events. We have many more events planned for this fall and winter, including our Oktoberfest, Halloween Brunch, and Thanksgiving Buffet. Bingo is also back and being held each Wednesday night so come try your luck and win the jackpot!
We are also busy preparing for our annual Holiday Ball on December 13, which will be a “Winter Wonderland” this year so it’s surely something not to miss! For more on this magical event, please visit the website and look for information as we get closer to December. With the holidays fast approaching, we will be holding many festive events so please take advantage of all of these!
Gibbs Hall charming atmosphere and Tudor-style elegance is the perfect place for all of your wedding receptions, reunions, business conferences, and holiday parties. We have the best service, food, and facility in the whole county for such events. We still have VIP Cards available for sale. The VIP Card entitles you to 10% off of all your bookings and dinners at Gibbs Hall and you may now use the VIP Card for 10% off of every purchase in our Golf Pro Shop. Every FMWR patron is eligible to use Gibbs Hall and purchase a VIP Card.
Suneagles Sports Bar has been busy hosting our Texas Hold ‘em Tournaments which have turned out to be a huge success! The next one will be coming right after the holidays so look for information on this and start practicing now! We are also preparing for our Annual Soldier Show which is held at the Expo Theatre. This year we were lucky enough to get two shows so that everyone has an opportunity to see it. These shows will be held on October 15 at 7:30pm and October 16 at 1:30pm. We look forward to seeing you there!
Army Community Services (ACS) has many programs to offer whether you are new to Fort Monmouth or have been here for years. Check out our ACS page to see the latest classes offered for newcomers and deployments, as well as seminars on everything from cooking classes to financial readiness. The Holiday Helper Program is scheduled for November and December. If you are interested in volunteering, contact ACS for information on all events this fall and winter. We also have our Newcomers Orientation scheduled for October 9 which is very beneficial for all of those who are new to our installation.
Our Outdoor Recreation Facility has all winter equipment stocked and ready to go! Whether you are just getting into winter sports or have been doing it for awhile, we have a great variety of equipment for rent that is available at a fraction of the cost on the outside. Come by one afternoon and check out what we have to offer- we would be more than happy to help you find what you need!

 The Department of the Army’s Freedom Team Salute is a sponsor and partner of the 2008 Army Soldier Show. This is the first year that Freedom Team Salute is sponsoring this high-profile MWR program. Freedom Team Salute gives Active Duty, U.S. Army Reserve and Army National Guard Soldiers an opportunity to recognize parents, spouses and employers for the support and strength they provide and Army veterans for their service and sacrifice, while they serve to protect our freedom and the American Way of Life.
